John B. Totaro, Jr., resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, advises clients on a broad range of international trade and Customs law matters. Mr. Totaro’s practice focuses on advising clients on the laws administered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and representing domestic producers, foreign producers and U.S. importers in antidumping duty, countervailing duty, and other unfair trade proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission. He also has represented parties in proceedings before the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. In addition, Mr. Totaro counsels U.S. and foreign-based clients on trademark matters and prosecutes trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Before beginning his law practice, Mr. Totaro served as a Senior Import Compliance Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Mr. Totaro is a graduate of Kenyon College and the University of Richmond School of Law, and he earned a Masters of Law degree from the University of Amsterdam. He is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia Bars, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
